TV's Dr. Frank Forrester |
Lead | |
|
Anyone notice the name of the balding sex-doctor in PMI who gets killed by Leech Woman is an in-name amalgamation of the two "Mads" from Mystery
Science Theatre 3000's golden period? I figured it was a sort of shout-out to the makers of MST3K from Charles Band for "Laserblast", but then I
found out that episode, as well as the episodes with TV's Frank in general, premiered well after Puppet Master came out! Maybe it was vice-versa?
The partial summary of the epic yet unproduced script for the marvelous duel of Blade vs. Chucky is as follows!:

MST3K's Frank Forrester is named after the main character in the original WAR OF THE WORLDS movie.
"Laserblast" was the last episode to feature the character. He's reborn as a Star Baby. |

Huh, thanks for the info. I know it's technically not since you just proved my theory wrong, but that is a bit of a coincidence that his last episode would
be a Charles Band film.

Not sure if they're very familar with Charles Band that much. "ROBOT HOLOCAUST" was also featured on the show. They referenced Dollman and Dollman vs. Demonic Toys though. |

According to the IMDb movie connections for "Puppet Master 3: Toulon's Revenge", Servo mentions the film by name in the "Santa
Claus" episode. I wonder what context he uses it in You must decapitate the Activitron! ...For great justice! |

MST3K was first shown on TV in 1988, twenty years ago. The 20th Anniversary Edition DVD comes out in October, it may include LASERBLAST.

I guess we both made another mistake. On MST3K, his name is CLAYTON Forrester. Not Frank.

In the episode "Phantom Planet," they also make a reference to Leech Woman, and I really think its the Full Moon Leech Woman, not the movie of that
title which they riffed earlier in the series. Because the girl actually does look quite a bit like Leech Woman. I thought that was funny.
